Dear Frank:
I was recently in a Colorado casino where you can play your blackjack hand multiple times against the dealer. After a game for all the players, the dealer keeps his/her up card to draw again against any player who chose to replay. The player keeps his/her first-dealt hand. My gut tells me this is not a good thing for the player.
What's your opinion?
Fred
Dear Fred:
No new versions of blackjack are better than the original version is usually a rule to live by. New versions are brought in to take more out of your wallet.
Now I am not quite sure of this new version. It sounds kind of weird. If you have a hand of 20, you would definitely keep it against any dealer's first card. That's a winning hand about two-thirds of the time. If they let you do that then play the 20 every time you get it. Play the 19 every time you get it.
It seems I am missing something here.
For your letter I am giving you a free 30-day subscription to my private, members-only web site at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members and I think you will enjoy it.
All the best in and out of the casinos!
