Dear Frank,
I need your advice. On the come-out roll, I bet $25 on the don't come line (dark side) with a $75 no 10 ($1 vig. / juice). Sometimes I bet $25 don't come with a $6 bet on any 7. Sometimes I just bet $25 on the don't come with no extra "insurance" bets, just straight up.
What do you think is the better way to bet the don't come side? I appreciate your advice and comments.
Thank you,
Joseph
Dear Joseph:
Stop throwing your money away! Do not lay the no-10 bet on the come-out or ever. The house edge is too high - almost 2.5 percent. If you are playing at a $5 table then do a $5 don't pass bet and back it with full odds when the point is established. The house edge is really small on these bets with full odds - somewhere in the tenths of a percent. This is sound betting.
The Any 7 is the worst bet in craps, you lose about $16.67 for every $100 you wager on this bet. It's a killer for your bankroll. There is no insurance in craps and hedging merely wastes your money. I have a whole series on hedging and why it stinks on my craps web site at www.goldentouchcraps.com. I suggest you read it and learn why protecting yourself is really hurting yourself.
All the best in and out of the casinos!
