Never open a table when you are alone or play when you are alone at a table. Very few craps players like to play alone at the table. Many controlled shooters do, in fact, prefer to play alone or with one or two other people. I guess for the average player being alone makes them feel lonely; they like the camaraderie of other players. Craps is a communal game. Also being alone puts all your money on your own throwing of the dice and this can be nerve wracking. You don't have time to rest between rolls even if the dealers let you know that you can rest.
