Should I flick my wrist when I toss the dice?

Dear Frank:

I have a question.

I am having tons of trouble trying to figure this controlled throw thing out. My dice are going everywhere.

My question for the moment, though, do you guys flick your wrist when you throw, or keep it rigid when you release the dice?

Dear Mike:

The throwing has to be smooth with no "flick of the wrist" at the end of it. That extra energy from the flick does several things to ruin a good dice throw:

1. It puts an irregular spin on the dice at times, causing the dice to splatter.
2. It adds extra energy to the dice, making the back wall hit too hard in many cases.
3. It often makes the dice curve left or right, destroying a straight on back-wall hit.

There are other problems but you get the idea. No flick of the wrist at the end.
