Dear Frank,
Have read 3 of your books {just finished Forever Craps} and have enjoyed them all. Please explain how casino's rate you for comps when you have "no action" using the 5-count. I have played several times using the doey-don't system and that doesn't seem to result in any comps. However, I do not play for long periods.
Robert
Dear Robert:
The doey-don't will result in a low or no rating. The casino usually doesn't feel the 1 in 36 chance of that 12 coming up is enough of an edge to give comps, even though mathematically it is a higher edge than the Pass/Come traditional betting.
The comps will come using the 5-Count because when you do bet, other than doey-don't, they'll record that bet. The time you are not in action is usually overlooked. Many craps players have some kind of shooter qualification criteria and many don't make bets all the time. What I have found is that the 5-Count eliminates about 50% of the shooters, reducing your exposure in half and doubling the comps for that time.
Glad you liked the books. All the best in and out of the casinos!
