Is Internet Gambling a Good or Bad Thing?

29 August 2011

By Frank Scoblete

I have thought about playing my favorite casino games on the Internet. It is a lot easier to go into my den and play than to travel to the land-based casinos. My wife thinks I am asking for trouble. What do you think?

Sam

Dear Sam:

I think it can be trouble if you start using your "living money" that pays for your house, food, kids' schooling and other important things for gambling. If you have the least bit of compulsive gambler in you -- not necessarily a fully addicted gambler but one who occasionally goes overboard -- the occasions for going overboard will be far more prevalent if you are gambling in your den.

On the flip side, if you have a gambling account, what I call a 401G, with enough money in it to enjoy at-home wagering, then it will probably be just fine.

I am giving you a free 30-day subscription to my private member's only web site at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this site and I think you will enjoy it.
