Hi Frank,
The racinos which are racetracks with slots machines but most people refer to them as a casino. Many racetracks throughout Pa., NY, Del. have slots which I am familiar with. We patronize the local racinos especially Pocono Downs Mohegan Sun. As they include roulette slots. My reason for frequent visits. The R-slots have one single zero. The payout for a single straight bet is 34 to 1 and not 35 to 1 as most player believe the latter to be.
While playing the R-slot this past weekend, a player on the next machine hit his number and asked why he got $34 and not a payout of $35 to 1. I told him that these R-slots only have one single zero and that is the correct payout of 34 to 1 since the two zeros R-tables pay 35 to 1.
Now that raises a answer. Do the European wheel with the single zero which some American casinos do have. Do those R-tables pay 34 to 1 or do they pay 35 to 1 as the European casinos pay 35 to 1 ?????
Frank would you agree that the reason I gave him is correct?? I have to be honest I was somewhat surprise myself that it is 34 to 1 as I don't play the straight bets. Appreciate your comments and also to my question underlined above.
Jaggy
The single-zero wheel pays 35 to 1 in the casinos, so the people playing the machine are losing out quite a bit. Also the speed of a machine is much faster than the real wheel so the losses will mount much more quickly. I'd say it is best to avoid these machines.
All the best in and out of the casinos.
