Dear Mr. Scoblete,
I just completed reading your interesting (and very humorous) piece: "Stop Minding My Business."
I would humbly submit that you are perhaps misinterpreting the intentions of some readers. Because true leadership in any field of endeavor is so rare, we, as faithful followers of your observations, literally "hinge" on every word that you write. Through your many books and articles, you have developed a larger-than-life persona, and, as a result, people are intrigued by every detail about you. Unfortunately, however, this obviously extends to personal items not directly related to gambling. When someone asks if AP is as attractive as you continuously report, for example, I do not think it is because of prurient interest. Rather, I suspect it is because your devotees are fascinated by a man so dedicated to his wife and obviously in love.
So, Mr. Scoblete, you might think of the irritating questions and intrusions as reliable indicators that you are having a positive effect. Certainly, I think the interest that most people demonstrate is unequivocal evidence that your wisdom is being read and internalized.
Here's hoping that you and your family have a happy and healthy year. I am hoping to take the beginners' course in late March 2009 at Atlantic City.
Warmest regards,
John L.
