Hello Frank!
I recently saw the TV show "Breaking Vegas" in which yourself, Sharpshooter and The Dominator were featured. A couple of questions...
Firstly, although your countenance has been featured in print and many a TV show this would be the first time I saw the faces behind the names of Sharpshooter and Dominator. What was the impetus behind the desire of both men to be on TV? Any worries that the added exposure will be an issue? This assumes that casino crews actually watch gambling-themed shows on The History Channel, I suppose!
Secondly, was that the best guy they could find to portray you? The guys portraying Sharpshooter and Dom were close but your Doppelgänger didn't look or sound like you at all!
Anyways it was a great show and I loved to hear the tales behind the rise of Dom. I am sure there are countless tales of times spent at the tables. I have had plans to build a full scale mock-up in the garage for practice, but life conspired to place this on hold. After seeing the show I have already started cleaning out the garage and pricing the materials (the felt, rubber diamonds, etc.) to make one!
Take care,
Michael
Hi Michael:
I'm glad you enjoyed the show but obviously it was a script that took some liberties with the actual events, not the least of which was to make me appear to be a skinny, dissipated, crack salesman. (That's how my sister said it.)
Wanting to be on television for many of us has more to do with the fact that we are selling a legitimate product, dice control, and this gives us great publicity. Some casino personnel have watched the show and sometimes Dominator is recognized and I am often recognized as well. Some of the casino executives are friendly and happy to have us playing in their casinos since this gives them great publicity when I write about them in a positive way.
Unfortunately, some casino people take just the opposite view and see us as people who are going to break their banks. These individuals often act hostile and sometimes downright nasty.
The book that has the true and complete background story to Dominator, Golden Touch Craps and me is The Craps Underground: How Dice Controllers are Winning Millions from the Casinos! It's $24.95 plus $5 shipping and can be purchased from Paone Press at 1-800-944-0406.
For your great letter, I am giving you a free one-month subscription to my private, members-only website at www.goldentouchcraps.com. There are over 5,000 members on this site and I think you will find the discussions fascinating and informative - and fun! You'll get another email with all the information to access the site.
All the best in and out of the casinos!
