Does the 5-Count Work Only on Dice Controllers?

21 March 2010

By Frank Scoblete

Dear Frank,

I did as you instructed. I read all the info about the 5-Count at www.goldentouchcraps.com.

Let me see if I get this one thing straight. What you are saying is that the 5-Count works, and only works with dice control / rhythmic rolling? So without the 5-Count, dice control alone would make it impossible to beat the game of craps? So using the 5-Count to simply chart is a failed or flawed idea?

I've read your books on craps. They were fun reads. I pretty much believe that you've written more extensively on the game than anyone else. But didn't you say that you're publishing a new book this year, also one on advanced craps -- that will blow minds? What more can there be to write on the game?

Thank you again for reading my emails.

Sincerely,
J.

Hi J:

The 5-Count is a method anyone can use to reduce the number of random rolls you bet on. It reduces by 57 percent such rolls. It is not used exclusively with controlled shooters. It is not a charting method like the ones that look for hot tables. It is merely a statistical device to reduce the hit on your bankroll as our writers discuss on our web site. Normal charting methods are a waste of time since they have no predictive value.

The 5-Count has a predictive value. Again, 57 percent of the random rolls will be eliminated.

For a controlled shooter, it is different. The best way to play is all alone at the table and never have to bet on a random roller. But very few controlled shooters have the luxury of doing that. So we use the 5-Count to tell us which random shooters to bet on and we bet much lower on them than we do on ourselves. These random shooters will not make us money in the long run, but you can't just stand at a table and never bet. Casinos don't like that.

Yes, I do have two more books coming out on craps. The first, to be published this spring, is Casino Craps: Shoot to Win! I think it is the most complete book ever published on the subject and can take a player from being a novice to learning dice control.

The next book, to be published in the fall, is my advanced book. I don't have a title for it yet, but it will blow people's minds as it has information about the game that has never been revealed before. Both books will be published by Triumph Books, a division of Random House.

All the best in and out of the casinos!
