Dear Frank,
I play blackjack a couple of times a month, usually on a casino boat since we don't have casinos in my state. That means I have a finite time to play. I use your speed count and OBS card (Beat Blackjack Now: The Easiest Way to Get the Edge!).
My question is this: When I'm at the table and novice players show up (they seem to travel in pairs) and start making non-basic strategy plays, do they hurt my odds of winning? If they are to my right I often sit out until they lose all their money or move on, but playing time is precious on a boat.
Am I being a snob?
Abe
Dear Abe:
You aren't being a snob but you are being misled by one of the persistent myths of blackjack that the way others play their hands directly affects you. Check out the information in Beat Blackjack Now! and you'll see I have a whole discussion of this topic.
So, you aren't a snob and you don't have to worry about non-skilled players ruining the game for you.
I am giving you a free 30-day subscription to my private members-only website at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this site and I think you will enjoy it.
All the best in and out of the casinos!
