Dear Frank:
I know that in Vegas I'm allowed to make a pass line bet after the point is established. May I do the same in Atlantic City?
Yours truly,
Dino
Dear Dino:
Yes, you can, but do you want to? With your point being a 6 or 8, the house edge on the bet with exodus is about 1.5 percent, just as it is with a place bet of 6 or 8. With less than 5X odds, the put bet is worse.
On a point of 4 or 10, the put bet edge with 6X odds is the same as a buy bet; any less than 6X odds the hammering time begins. When the point is 5 or 9, the put bet with 4X odds is the same as the place bet, which is 4 percent.
You are much better off in games with low odds bets to use place betting - you also have the option of taking your place bet down. Still better is to go the regular way with Pass and Come bets with odds because then you get that house edge to hover around one-half percent - a very good bet indeed.
I would also recommend using the 5-Count which can be found in my book Golden Touch Dice Control Revolution!
