Bingo Slots in Florida

We recently went to Seminole Hard Rock Casino, Tampa, Florida. They have the slot machines that have the "Bingo Game" on each and every machine in the place. If you do not get a bingo on the card at the top of the machine screen, you obviously do not get any type of payoff when the reels stop.

Someone said this is how the reservations are allowed to have "Slot Machines" while other gaming establishments aren't allowed to have them, such as Greyhound tracks, horse tracks, etc. This person also said that is why there is a big controversy here in Florida over allowing slot machines to be placed at the tracks and jai alai establishments. If they are to allow the machines to be placed in the other gaming places, the question has been, "Will they be Bingo-type machines or Vegas-style slots?"

I am sure, being the expert you are, that you know a lot more about this than I will ever know.

Dear Danny:

It's all up to the legislature. Many want "skill type" games on machines that are played at the tracks and other venues other than casinos. I am thinking this is what is happening in Florida. I guess bingo is considered a game of skill in your state.
