Are These Truths Self Evident in Blackjack?

Dear Frank:

Aren't these true statements? Always figure there is a 10-valued card in the hole for the dealer before you make your decision. Never split aces against a dealer's 8, 9 or 10 up card. Dealers will not bust as often as the player and that is their biggest edge.

Pay up. The ten-valued cards only make up about 30 percent of a deck so the dealer will have a ten only about 30 percent of the time. Your basic strategy is not based on guessing whether the dealer has a ten in the hole. It is merely based on the dealer's up card with an analysis of all possible hole cards.

Split aces against all cards. This is the best way to play. You will lose more money if you fail to do this.

Dealer's busting or not busting is not the strongest element in giving the house the edge. When players bust, they lose; even if the dealer should subsequently bust.
